Dewdrop Foundation empowers the largest population of unskilled, unemployed and underemployed poor women and widows through grass-root awareness programs for political inclusion and economic empowerment, skills development/capacity building, advocacy and entrepreneurship training to ensure self-reliance and lifelong career opportunities.
Dewdrop Foundation partnered with Women Impact Nigeria (WIN), a female led not-for profit organization dedicated to gender equality and empowerment of women. We jointly implemented a Widows Empowerment Project in FCT Abuja and reached out to widows who are business owners and empower them with digital marketing skills to improve their businesses. Seventy-six (76) widows participated in the digital marketing training. The selected women were trained on social media marketing, creating business audience, Google digital skills, digital marketing strategy, search engine optimization and Google my businesses.
Four (4) of the top performers at the Widows Empowerment Project digital marketing training were selected for a subsequent business start-up training program. At the end of the program, the four (4) widows were awarded a grant N250, 000 each to support their businesses.
DDF started as an organization whose work largely focused on Caregivers. However, our field experience over the years on the intersecting challenges faced by rights holders, led to our additional focus on community development
